Synopsis

RESEARCH STATEMENTS

Having my miscarriage at four weeks was hard. I had literally just began to wrap my head around the fact that I was pregnant. I'll never forget where I was and how it happened. I'll never forget the night in hospital. I'll never forget the day after, coming home, the physical pain, the emotional pain. I'll never forget how much I cried.”

“It's funny hey, the old people say just keep quiet, don't say anything, don't talk about it, yet the more people you speak to the more you hear "Oh I've had one too", which makes me think that we really just need to be more open about these things. ”

The General Reporter

“Just because the little being was not here physically she was still mourned through the power of love. There is nothing quite like being told that you are going to be a parent, having that ripped away from you is life altering thus more attention needs to be given to bereaved parents." Can end the quote there or continue it with "I wish my community embraced miscarriage perhaps weathering the storm together would have made things a bit more easier.”

“For many people especially in the Indian culture sometimes discussing difficult topics like miscarriage is Taboo. I had a miscarriage when I was 22. It being a fragile age , I was not sure how to process losing your first child or what would have been your first child. .I found that it was cathartic to acknowledge that a part of us was gone. Losing a baby humbles you. Your emotions are volatile your relationships are vulnerable and your mental capacity to process the loss almost works in auto pilot. .
